Excellence Leading the New Generation

Red Granite Ranch is a family ran business, located on 400 acres in Northern Colorado at an elevation of 7,500 feet. The ranch sits at the base of the Rocky Mountains on rolling hills of prairie grassland. Our views are extreme. We are approximately 32 miles north of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and 33 miles southwest of Cheyenne, Wyoming. It is just a hop skip and a jump from interstate 80 or Colorado Highway 287. Our family invites you to visit and experience our wonderful lifestyle in the Rocky Mountains.

Among the rolling hills of prairie grassland in Northern Colorado, you’ll find the home of the finest alpacas in the country. Red Granite Ranch has been breeding and selling elite seed stock alpacas in Northern Colorado since 2009. With over 10 years of trusted experience in the alpaca breeding industry. Here at Red Granite Ranch, our mission is to build an elite herd of alpacas with every breeding decision we make. Since opening in 2009, this pursuit has allowed us to create an award-winning ranch with animals proven to be competitive in the show ring. Our fleeces are dense, fine, and uniform, so you can trust that our fleece products are the best in the business.

From the very beginning, we began making purchases and breeding decisions that would allow us to build a herd of elite alpacas. We wanted Alpacas that would pass on to their offspring good health, superior conformation, lasting fineness, density, and uniformity in their fleece. We are preparing our herd not only to be competitive in the show ring but profitable in the developing fiber market. Our goal is excellence and herd advancement with every breeding decision we make. Our starting males Snowmass Matrix Rose, Snowmass Premonition, Crescent Moon's Shiftin Gears and Snowmass Reserved helped make those goals come true.

We have had the honor of being awarded the 2020 James G. King Industry Recognition Award. This award is given by the AOA Board of Directors to a person or persons who have given of themselves exceptionally and consistently toward the betterment of the alpaca industry. We have spent countless hours making sure our herd is healthy and perfecting the huacaya breed. Making sure our clients always get the best outcome when using our Herdsires is our main goal, as we love to see our clients blossom. Our hard work has paid off, and we will continue to bring the best to the table.

With having Herdsires in every color, every ranch/farm will have a standout, ones that produce the most top quality crias every breeding. For us it's Red Granites Val D Lsere & his sire Snowmass MR Sizlin Rose. They have taken our herd to the next level in fineness, handle, phenotype, density, and brightness, even bringing our ranch name out of the US and into other Countrys. Snowmass MR Sizlin Rose has two AOA National Dark Supreme Champion Crias as of 2021, and if you are counting, his crias have won 4 out of the 5 Dark Male AOA National Supreme Championships since adding them in 2016. He is also a 12X Get Of Sire winner! Red Granites Val D Lseres crias have also been top notch showers.

At the 2021 TXOLAN Double Shows every Val baby there placing in top 3. His crias won in White, Fawn, Grey, Light, black and brown, with one of his white offspring taking a judges choice win! We brought 5 Val D Lsere offspring, our clients had brought and additional 8. His offspring won 1 Judges' Choice, 6 Color Championships, 3 Reserve Championships and 1 Reserve Fleece Championship. None of them scored lower than 3rd. He even won the Get of Sire at the Sweetheart TXOLAN Show, making him a 6X Get Of Sire Winner! His line is showing to be even more potent than expected, and for us that's a good thing. All of our Herdsires are listed on our Website, many having stud fees and being champions.
